Girona is full of history, art and life. It’s also full of places where the surrealist artist Salvador Dalí spent most of his life and created some of his best-known works.

With the help of Girona’s top officials, we designed six authentic guided tours showcasing the area, including tours of Girona’s city center, Dalí’s Museums, medieval towns, and quaint fishing villages.

Historical and contemporary Girona

With a passionate local guide specialized in the city, take a tour of Girona's old town (where Palau Fugit is located) and learn about its more than two thousand year history, current traditions and other curiosities. Amble through its alleyways, squares and gardens, the cathedral, the Benedictine abbey, the Arab baths, the ramparts, the Jewish quarter and many other secret spots.

Dalí Theatre and Museum & Figueres

Visit the Dalí Theatre and Museum, Salvador Dalí’s final masterpiece and the world’s largest surrealist art piece. Learn about the artist’s youth in Figueres, how he conceptualized the museum and much more with a local guide specialized in Dalí’s life and work.

Complement your visit with a guided tour of the center of Figueres to discover the most relevant places in the artist's life — where he was born, lived and died.

Salvador Dalí House in Portlligat & Cadaqués

Located in the natural bay of Portlligat, Salvador Dalí House-Museum was the home and workshop of the artist and his wife Gala for more than fifty years. Get acquainted with all the details, stories, nooks and crannies hidden there thanks to the knowledge of a local guide specialized in the life of the surrealist genius.

Complement your visit with a guided tour of Cadaqués, one of the most beautiful and emblematic towns in the Costa Brava and a great source of inspiration for Salvador Dalí. With the accompaniment of a guide, discover all the spots of the fishing village that inspired the artist.

Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol & La Bisbal d'Empordà, Peratallada or Pals

Visit the Castle of Púbol, Salvador Dalí’s gift to his beloved wife, Gala. This Gothic-Renaissance castle was renovated by Dalí himself and shows the intimate setting of Gala and Dalí’s romantic and creative relationship. Immerse yourself in the artistic couple’s boundless creativity throughout the castle’s exquisite rooms and gardens.

Besalú & La Garrotxa Volcanic Area

Explore Besalú, one of Catalonia’s most remarkable and best preserved historical sites. Its medieval streets will take you back to the time of kings, queens, and cultural heritage, including the churches of San Julià and San Vicenç, the Monastery of Sant Pere and the Besalú mikveh, one of the last traditional Jewish baths in Europe.

You can also visit Santa Pau village, where you’ll find Garrotxa’s magnificent volcanic views. There’s lots to see in Santa Pau, including the volcano of Santa Margarida, the Croscat volcano and the Fageda d'en Jordà, a beech forest whose beauty boasts magical shades of light and color in every season.

Fishing villages: Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugell and Pals

Discover Costa Brava’s small fishing villages. Enjoy the sun, fresh Mediterranean air, and wonderful views on this quaint, relaxing tour.

You’ll also be able to visit the medieval town of Pals, where you can take a pleasant stroll through beautiful cobblestone streets and gothic buildings.
